Sandbach, pronounced "sand-batch", is a pleasant, historic market town located in South East Cheshire. The weekly market, which has existed since the days of Elizabeth I, is extremely popular and attracts visitors from miles around. The Trent and Mersey canal passes through the Town bringing numerous tourists in the summer. The surrounding countryside is mainly attractive dairy farmland and hence it is no surprise that Sandbach has grown rapidly in recent years as a dormitory town.

The town is renowned for its floral displays, particularly in the Park and on the roundabouts, which are acclaimed from far and wide. 

Visitors admire the masses of daffodils planted by the Sandbach-in-Bloom volunteers which colour the high banks in April. These are followed by swathes of ox-eye daisies and other colourful wild flowers, some of which have proved to be quite rare

It has marvelous communications being approximately half a mile from Junction 17 on the M6 motorway. It has its own railway station on the Crewe to Manchester mainline as well as being only ten minutes drive from Crewe mainline station. Manchester International airport is easily accessible by train or car. 

entertainment
The Transport Festival is staged each April and includes a general market and many other attractions and entertainment including live music it is now well established as an annual attraction. The parade includes an impressive lineup of all types of transport ranging from veteran, vintage, classic - both heavy and light - right up to the very latest cars and heavy goods vehicles.

Each year the day is combined with a National Town Criers’ competition with Town Criers traveling from all parts of Britain to compete. The brightly coloured costumes of the Town Criers against the backdrop of the picturesque Ancient Crosses on the Square make for a most entertaining event.

Neatest theater’s and cinema’ are in Crewe or Hanley.

In 1579 Queen Elizabeth I awarded a Royal Charter to Sir John Radcliffe of Ordsall for a market to be held in Sandbach. The market is held every Thursday on the Scotch Common. There is also an indoor market held on Thursdays and Saturday mornings under the Town Hall.
